Privacy Policy
Last updated: 27 August 2026
We only ask for the information we need to answer your enquiry and carry out the work, we keep it safe, and we never sell it. This page explains what we collect and what you can ask us to do with it.
Who we are
J K Hamblin Windows & Doors is the data controller for the personal information described here. You can contact us about privacy on 07877 858912 or at jason@jkhamblin.co.uk.
What we collect
When you contact us or use the quote form on this site, we may collect:
- your name, email address and phone number;
- your postcode or address and details about the property;
- the service you are interested in and any message or details you send us;
- correspondence, quotations, survey notes and photographs relating to your job;
- basic technical information created automatically when you visit the site, such as your approximate location and browser type.
We do not ask for special category data, and please do not send us card details by email or through the website.
Why we use it
- to reply to your enquiry and prepare a quotation;
- to arrange surveys, order materials and carry out and guarantee the work;
- to invoice you and keep proper business and tax records;
- to handle questions, guarantee claims or complaints afterwards;
- to keep the website secure and working properly.
Our lawful bases
We rely on contract where we are quoting for or carrying out work for you; legitimate interests to respond to enquiries, run and protect our business and keep records of jobs; legal obligation for accounting, tax and health and safety records; and consent where you have specifically opted in, for example to marketing. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Who we share it with
We share information only where it is needed to do the job or run the business: product manufacturers and suppliers, our fitters and trusted subcontractors (for example carpentry or scaffolding), our accountant, and the service providers who host this website, store our data and deliver our email. We may also share information where the law requires it. We do not sell your personal information or share it for advertising.
Some of our providers may process data outside the UK. Where that happens we rely on appropriate safeguards such as UK adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses.
Photographs of work
We sometimes photograph completed work for our website and social media. Photographs show the work itself and do not identify your address. If you would prefer we did not photograph your property, or you would like a photo removed, just tell us and we will.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to work are normally kept for up to 2 years. Records relating to completed jobs, including guarantees and invoices, are kept for at least 6 years to meet accounting requirements and to support any guarantee claim, and sometimes longer where a product guarantee runs beyond that.
Security
Access to enquiry and customer records is limited to the people who need it, and our website and stored data are protected by the access controls provided by our hosting and database providers. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information and to deal promptly with any problem.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, ask us to restrict or object to how we use it, ask for it to be transferred to someone else, and withdraw consent where we relied on it. Contact us at jason@jkhamblin.co.uk and we will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last changed.
